A Playdate with Photoshop

With this post I wanted to show the type of methods I use when practicing with software like Adobe Photoshop. These images were inspired by the Y2K trends blowing up in the social media world right now and are purely experimental.

This image was the more complicated of the two. It involved cutting Toni (the model) and the window frame out of the background in order to replace it with the file to the right. Next, the file to the right was placed over these two layers as an overlay in order to distort the texture. Beyond playing with the color curves, all that I did after that was erase portions of the layer with Toni in it to make it appear as if the background was creeping around her.

This second image really only involved altering the opacity of the top two layers and playing with the color curves. I really didn't have to do much else, as Maddy (the photographer) was able to catch multiple slightly different frames of the same motion, as seen above.
